Peer review process
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Istanbul Veterinary Sciences are initially reviewed by the editorial office. At this stage, manuscripts may be rejected without peer review if it is not suitable to the journal’s scope or formatting requirements. If appropriate, the manuscript will be sent out for peer review, usually to 2 independent reviewers who will provide comments. Afterwards, the manuscript will be sent back to the corresponding author for revision according to the comments of the reviewers. Authors have 3 weeks to complete the revision. At the end of the review process, the final decision will be made by the editors of the journal on the basis of reviewers’ reports. The originality, quality, and impact of the study will be taken into consideration in the final decision. The review processes of the submitted articles are carried out in accordance with the principles of the "double-blind review process".
The author(s) should write, sign and send a paper which reports that the study was not published or is not in the process of being published in elsewhere and that the authors are taking all the responsibility of the study. Falsification of data, plagiarism or publication without proper citation are all unacceptable and are the reasons for rejection of publication.
Care and use of animals
If animals are used in the study, the author (s) must declare in the materials and methods section the manuscript is in compliance with the institutional or international animal care and use guidelines. A manuscript containing information that suggests animals were subjected to adverse, stressful, or harsh conditions or treatments will not be considered for publication. The Editor retains the right to reject manuscripts on the base of animal welfare concerns.
